Distinct from Victron's Orion-Tr DC-DC Converter line, the Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC Charger stands out as a professional-grade adaptive 3-stage charger featuring built-in Bluetooth functionality. Available in both isolated and non-isolated variants, each version offers a wide range of configurations to suit various installation requirements. Enabled with Bluetooth Smart technology, these chargers allow monitoring, settings adjustment, and software updates using any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, tablet, or device. They are fully programmable, supporting configurable battery charge algorithms or fixed "power supply" outputs. Additionally, they are "smart" alternator-compatible, featuring an adjustable engine running detection mechanism. The adaptive 3-stage charge algorithm seamlessly manages Bulk, Absorption, and Float stages, ensuring optimal battery performance. For lead acid batteries, absorption time adjusts based on discharge depth, while for LiFePO4 (LFP) batteries, absorption time is fixed with adjustable options. The chargers offer a remote on/off feature for convenient control and zero quiescent draw when not in use. They are short-circuit proof and can be paralleled with an unlimited number of units for increased output current. With high-temperature protection and an IP43 rating when terminals are downward-oriented, they operate reliably in various conditions.
