Q: What is a Triton Lithium Deep Cycle Battery?
A: The latest in safe lithium battery technology. The Triton LFP is a direct replacement for flooded and AGM lead-acid batteries and utilizing safe LiFePO4 lithium battery chemistry. By replacing a traditional lead-acid battery with a Triton LFP, you will get 2x the usable energy with ½ the weight.
Q: What is the life of a Triton Lithium Deep Cycle Battery?
A: The battery will last anywhere between 2 and 5 thousand charge and discharge cycles, depending on the operating temperature, amps used to recharge, depth of discharge and charger quality (we recommend Victron brand equipment).
Q: What are the best uses of a Triton Lithium Deep Cycle Battery?
A: As an energy storage source the battery easily stores energy from solar, wind, or an AC charger.
Most common applications are RV's, Toy Haulers, Airstream trailers, Sprinters, Promaster vans and anywhere a clean, non spill battery is needed. It can also be used to start small engines (marine, up to 90 HP)
Q: Can the Triton LFP be connected in series and or parallel?
A: The batteries can be connected in unlimited parallel connections at 12v and increasing capacity with every parallel. A maximum of two series connections = 24 volts
Q: What is the size and weight of the Triton Lithium Deep Cycle Battery?
A: Dimensions are consistent with group 24 battery sizes - 10 1/8 x 6 3/8 x 9" tall. 25 lbs
Q: What are the battery charging parameters?
A: Charging voltage is 14.4 to 14.6 volts (same as AGM settings) Float charge at 13.4 to 13.6 volts
Low voltage disconnect at 11.5 volts
Q: Can a standard battery charger be used?
A: If a lithium battery setting is not available on your charger, you can use the AGM setting. If lithium settings are available, the battery will recharge faster
Q: What about my engine alternator?
A: Yes but if you want the best performance and safety, you should install battery DC-DC charger.
DC-DC chargers are available by Victron, Sterling, Renogy, etc.
Q: What are the temperature limitations?
A: First note, all batteries have temp limits, not just LFP.
The battery can be charged between 32F and 113F
Discharge the battery between -4F and 140F
By Connecting Two Triton Lithium Batteries in Parallel (2560 Wh) we can Predict Run Time Examples for Connected Appliances.
With a 94% efficiency, two Triton LFP batteries in parallel have an output of 2406 Wh
- 10 watt cell phone. Math equation of 2406Wh / 10 watts = 240 hours
- 30 watt light. Math equation of 2406Wh / 30 watts = 85 hours
- 150 watt refrigerator or cooler. Math equation of 2406Wh / 150 watts = 16 hours
- 20 watt fan. Math equation of 2406Wh / 20 watts = 128 hours
- 50 watt TV. Math equation of 2406Wh / 50 watts = 48 hours
