A lithium battery replacement is available for the 72 volt GEM cars.  Connect the six 12 volt 100 Ah LiFePO4 same as the lead acid batteries were connected (series).
Notice immediately the reduction in weight.  360 lbs for lead acid vs 150 lbs for LiFePO4.
The 72 volt 100Ah battery pack has a range of 60 miles at 72 degrees and smooth/flat terrain. Less mileage for steep terrain.

Battery dimensions are 10" x 7" x 10" tall.
Terminals are M8 insert terminal.
Minimum 2 gauge battery connector cables should be used.

The BMS (battery management system) detects any problems with the performance of the battery and will shut down any cells not functioning properly. The BMS will also protect the batteries from any over-charging or under charging of the batteries.

On Board Charging Method for GEM Car Lithium Battery Pack

A lithium battery profile will need to be uploaded to the onboard 72v delta q charger 912-7200 will need to be uploaded to the charger if not currently loaded.  By using a lithium battery charging profile, rapid battery charging will occur. Otherwise an AGM battery profile can be used but do not leave charger power plugged in after batteries are 100%. A maintenance charge is not needed for the LiFePO4
